Comments: My Software licensing requirements are fairly simple, I only use it to provide node-locked (MAC address) licensing and temporary licensing. For these purposes it works perfectly and the pricing is very competitive compared to other companies licensing software. I am a small software developer and the pricing of the previous software licensing I used was a not small part of my sales cost. On top of the very competitive pricing, in the very few times I needed assistance, Persistent software has been very responsive and responded to my queries in a day or less.

Pros:

It does exactly what I need for a very attractive price.

Cons:

Nothing, it does everything I need and was easy to use.

Powerfull and easy to use solution

Comments: After losing months with other products - without any success, we have decided to use SafeGuard LM. We have managed to set it up and test in couple of days. Prompt response and 1:1 support were extremely helpful.

Pros:

It has almost all the features we need. Extremely easy to use compared to other products. Integration is straightforward. Customer support is excellent. Simple to use but powerful solution.

Cons:

There is really nothing worthy of being mentioned as a Cons.

Pros:

possibility to protect the software when giving it to third party

Small efficient piece of software

Comments: Customer service is great and the product is fast and light on resources. Simpy put, it does all that we need and performs admirably

Pros:

Safeguard is a small efficent peice of software, the small install size and memory requirement mean no impact on the server. At this price point you would struggle to find a better alternative

Cons:

Nothing, it simply does all that I need it do to and is laid out well and simply to use.

Software License Management that just works

Pros:

Provides the features we need at a very reasonable cost. All components are provided with the base product (nodelock and floating license support), we don't have to keep going back to buy more. Great response time from support, though we have not needed much. Simple integration for our C++ project, less than a day to get linked and running.

Cons:

For basic license management, no cons to report. It just works.

Simple to use

Comments: Aside from problems with the TCP port being blocked so we changed it on the client for TCP port 443 in order to get through proxy servers to connect to licence server via a HAPROXY server, we had to restart the licence server once, and we have to manage the issuing/modification of licence on the MySQL server, which is fine

Pros:

Cons:

Licence only locked by MAC address from the client computer we have licence renewals every quarter, but in case of licence cancelled and transferred to another computer before the end of the quarter, there is no way to check if the licence is still valid as the client will contact the server at the end of quarter for a renewal

Great product, simple to use

Comments: We have a need for a fast, light weight, license manager that we can deploy with our application, and SafeGuard LM meets these requirements easily. The turnaround for special requests has been exemplary, and our discussions with the vendor have convinced us that security and functionality are top priorities for the product. Our experience to date only confirms those priorities. Overall, we are very pleased with SafeGuard LM.

Pros:

Customer support is excellent and timely. The product is fast and light on resources, allowing a huge number of clients from a single server. We have had some unique requirements, that were not only considered, but researched and resolved in short order.

Cons:

It can be a little confusing to sort out the use cases for the SafeGuard LM and Product Activation Server components.

World-class, cost effective copy protection that 'just works' (7+ year user)

Comments: I use SafeGuard LM to offer people a time-limited free trial for my application, and to issue licenses to paying customers. As my company has grown it was a pleasure to work with the Persistent Security team to expand my use of their product. I use it on Windows 32bit/64bit, macOS & Linux.

Pros:

I love that the developers are very open to requests. They take the time to fully understand any additional requirements and several new features were added as a result. The software is the most stable I have ever seen. It just runs and runs without issue. Documentation and support is also excellent.

Cons:

Hard to think of anything. I guess it would have been nice to have some pretty reports baked in, but it's easy for your own web developer to knock these up.

SafeGuard LM license manager

Comments: We needed an efficient license management solution with broad platform support and compact size. SafeGuard LM did just that.

Pros:

An easy to integrate, complete and well supported license management software. Does what it is intended to do, has great documentation and works flawlessly.

Cons:

Administration (backend side) of the software does require some customization before high volume deployment is possible. Some improved bundled in tools would help in this process.

Comments: We can provide protected binary versions of each of our calculation codes to our partners and customers. The types of license offered are adapted to our needs: individual licenses, token licenses, limited (or not) in time.
In terms of internal development, we are homogeneous. We have developed a unique application for our codes written in C or Fortan.

Pros:

SafeGuard LM is easy to use. Thanks to the examples provided, I was able to develop an application in C to check the floating and nodelock licenses. This application can be compiled / linked with our own applications written in Fortran or C. Thus, in our team, we have a homogeneous protection system for all the codes that we provide to our partners and customers. Generating license files is simple. Very good value for money.

Cons:

We set up and used the floating license server on Linux computers. But not yet on Windows computer. We are not very expert in Windows, and the SafeGuard manual for the Windows license server is poor. Lack of details and examples ....

Powerfull, easy to use and manage

Comments: Very simple implementation of protection in existing code. Different license options (node, floating). Easy license server installation.I am very satisfied that I chose SafeGuard LM.

Pros:

It is very simple to use. Examples are prepared for different programming languages (I use FORTRAN).Quick support response (even on holidays).

Cons:

I am not aware of any major disadvantages. I would probably appreciate a more detailed manual describing better the philosophy of software protection and its implementation. The manual describes each function precisely, but the implementation process was only obvious from the examples (easily readable for developer). I was just dealing the way of implementation (complicated by my FORTRAN compiler) with support.

Please take my money! Packed with all the top-tier features and you buy the code --- not lease!!

Pros:

This package allowed me to added licensing to my code that I sell. The code is in FORTRAN, and SafeGuard LM has an example for that. It also works with all the other main codes. I have to pinch my self that this type of software is available without a lease and for an amazingly manageable price. Really, if you need an LM for your code, you shouldn't look any further. This is the LM code for everyone. Tiny companies to HUGE companies can all benefit from using this code instead of the other ultra expensive LM codes out there.

Cons:

I want to be very fair in my review to not sound like I am a marketer of this code. With that said, I have nothing to add to the cons area. I was given one-on-one help to get started when I felt completely overwhelmed by the whole LM world and how to add it to my code. This package just works and is seamless in my usage.

A great license software

Comments: Great experience over all.

Pros:

The great customer service the developer provides. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is always quick to answer all the questions we have had.

Cons:

Some of the instructions is not clear. This is compensated by the decided technical support provided by [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN].

Cost-effective license management

Pros:

It was quite easy for us to integrate SafeGuard LM into our code base. It is very reasonably priced and customer service is great. We always get answers to our questions very quickly.

Cons:

Maybe their documentation can be improved a bit.

A choice I made that I'm proud of

Comments: It's outstanding my expectations. I found an extra module for windows (anti-hacking), plus I receive regular updates. Excellent work!

Pros:

I like the way I could master all pieces of the licensing system. It's really customisable. I really control what I'm doing. The examples were absolutely helpful, and all my required use cases are covered by them. Integration with my products was easy.

Cons:

The only thing taht I still have to develop is a small web app on the internal network that help non-tech guys to generate license for their customers.

Solid product and outstanding support

Pros:

We came from using one of the big and expensive copy protection programs. Since we started using Safeguard LM we finally have a program that is extremely stable and that gives you great support the few times you need it.

Cons:

Hard to think of any. Maybe that it lacks some functionality, but it is nothing we can not live with.

Great, Straightforward License Management Software

Comments: Overall, it's been a great experience.

Pros:

The simplicity in integrating it with our Java codebase along with the great customer support we've received.

Cons:

Ran into a few minor issues initially setting it up. Wasn't the most straightforward, but the support team was responsive and helped us through it.

The best license solution I found and very good value for money

Comments: The Persistent Security team reached out to me a few years ago after I posted on a public forum looking for a suitable license solution for my software, I am so glad they did! After an initial call with the developer to understand how SafeGuard LM works, I decided to try it. The rare language I was developing in was not supported initially but they quickly added support and helped me to get up and running for no additional cost. SafeGuard LM has been an absolute dream to use since then. It's packed with features. Also PS have consistently been extremely accommodating with my requests and helping to solve any issues. The software is very reliable and just works. I cannot recommend this product and company highly enough!
