Decent 3rd Party Product for BaseCamp
Pros:
It's great to be able to use the Kanban boards to move your to-dos during the progression. At a glance you can see what to-dos need doing, which ones are in QA, what is completed, etc.
Cons:
There are some issues when working on larger projects. It tends not to stay synced and will drop connection with Basecamp, so we are constantly logging back into Tracked. The kanban board is an all or none kind of deal. It should have the ability to track both by project and to-do and not just one way of tracking for everyone.
We are still getting started with it. But once we have things set up we believe that this will help
Comments: Streamlining Installation projects.
Pros:
We really like how the projects work together and the 3rd party integrations available to us. Access from virtually any device is a huge plus. Support is great and responsive.
Cons:
It's not as intuitive as I thought it would be and I didn't find answers to my questions or video how to's with ease. It took some searching and frustration and finally had to get support involved.
Does a reasonable job without being wow
Pros:
- Immediately missed kanban boards coming from Clubhouse, glad that there is a solution for Basecamp - board UI / UX is pretty good - covers the important features that I want
Cons:
- Not always obvious how to navigate to a board, for example an entire project kanban from the project to-do page, or a single to-do list from the to-list page. - if I click on a to-do, the breadcrumb navigation takes me back to the to do list, not the kanban board - can't have custom columns on a per-project basis? - would prefer that to-do items launched in a modal rather than navigating away from the board - would prefer a left column navigation with checkboxes for filters rather than the header filtering - no Firefox support - would like to see to-do item relationships like blocking / blocker - would like basic github PR / branch integration - would like reporting (arguably Basecamp should do this though)
Nice integration module
Pros:
This is a nice module, which integrates with Basecamp and allows you to turn a pretty basic CRM system into a Kanban board, which is especially convenient for small product at support stage. The design is nice, functionality is basic, but sufficient.
Cons:
We wish there were more flexibility in terms of workflow adjustment and search around the tickets, since if you can't rely heavily on this module.
Kanban with Basecamp - At least you tried
Pros:
- Tracked was fast, you can't recognize that all columns were created by extensions. Performance was also great - Pretty convenient, you could bring TODO items to Tracked's Columns pretty easy and manage thems smoothly
Cons:
It's may not Tracked fault, it's Basecamp. BaseCamp is not okay to apply Scrum/Kanban, so it's pretty hard for Tracked to do all the stuff.
I Love using Tracked
Comments: I love it, and have multiple people here at the office using it.
Pros:
I love kanban board style task management which is what basecamp 3 lacks, but tracked fills that gap, and really well. Feels like its part of BC3, the integration is pretty flawless.
Cons:
Sometimes there can be a small delay with new to-dos showing up on the board.
Customer support has been amazing. They implemented everything we asked for.
Pros:
The visual view we get has improved our efficiency so well that we didn't have to switch project management systems as we scale.
Cons:
I would love to see a cleaner UI for boards. Something even nicer looking, if possible. And it would be amazing to see it work in other browsers outside of Chrome.
Helpful, but Needing More
Pros:
I love the ability to organize tasks into different columns and phases!
Cons:
I wish it would sync more intuitively with due dates and automatically push certain things to a 'high priority' board. I wish it was easier to go back to the Kanban board after clicking into a task.
It's a must
Comments: The project management process with just todo lists it's limited. Adding a kanban board leverage it and makes Basecamp more complete
Pros:
Tracked takes our Basecamp's project management to another level. It really make it a better tool.
Cons:
It's a little too expensive for small agencies like us
Brings sanity to your Basecamp todo lists
Pros:
I've been shocked at how responsive the customer service has been. We've requested features, and they've turned them on within a business day.
Cons:
At this time, I have no complaints about the tool. It has worked exactly as promised, with no bugs.
Tracked from Support Position
Comments: It's been really good overall. It's already allowing for great work flow and MUCH better tracking of things and where our workflow is being held up.
Pros:
I love the integration into basecamp, specifically with Kanban boards. I run our RMA/Repair system through todos which are associated to SupportBee tickets. With Kanban boards I can quickly see where a problem in my workflow is happening and who I need to action for it to continue moving. Great Tool. We do meetings where everything is based around Kanban board. Labels!!!! I love labels get for sorting.
Cons:
Customization options for fields is a miss between the two. Right now I'm using label but would prefer to be able to make these into fields. At the moment I create to-dos with about 25 fields for our repair team so it would be great if I could create my own fields like labels and be able to sort. The labels never stay on my to-dos if I put them on while creating the todo. I have to create the to do and then add labels. I would love to do RMA Number of Serial Number of Product / Type.
Helpful for Organizing Projects
Comments: I've loved it and have already recommended it to other teams internally and other companies I know that use Basecamp.
Pros:
I am a Basecamp superuser and generally have over 45 project cards going at one time. It was helpful to be able to customize where those projects are in their flow and move them along as we make progress.
Cons:
It's been great actually, I haven't had any issues. The only thing I will say is that it shows up in my google chrome as an add-on and I often click it thinking it will give me notifications or link me somewhere, but really it only shows me which basecamps I have connected to Tracked and when I click on the basecamp it doesn't take me anywhere. It isn't an issue at all, it's just a weird thing that I don't find to be necessary or intuitive.
Increased Productivity
Pros:
Tracked has allowed our development team to easily track which projects are most important and easily see who is working on what! Basecamp had already helped but it left a few gaps, Tracked was able to fill those gaps and make Basecamp the best product for our team!
Cons:
No issues have been found, we love the ease of use!
Tracked has increased the overall efficiency of our business
Comments: The ability to run a team more efficiently and have an overall view of what is happening and when and who is working on it.
Pros:
I love the functionality. While it has it's occasional glitches, the overall use of it is amazing. Our company has benefited from it so much. Even though we are a smaller team we all work together, sometimes remote, and we juggle a lot of different things for an ever-growing client list. Tracked has helped us communicate better because we could hop in and see what projects were being worked on and who has been working on them. It has allowed us to break out bigger projects into smaller bit size pieces that make more sense to the team.
Cons:
The glitches are pretty common. We also had some issues for a while trying to figure out labels to where we did not have to recreate the same ones every new task we made. But support was always there to help.
Agile project management for Basecamp - Made easy by Tracked
Comments: Tracked is good. Though I feel it is slightly expensive for being just a plugin, Its worth is in a way justified by how important that features are to implement agile development. However, Tracked may lose its value, if these obvious features are implemented by basecamp or another plugin, at lower or no-cost.
Pros:
I like the fact that Tracked team continuously innovates and is incorporating more agile features into the kanban board, so scrum masters can implement the agile process in a much more organized and easy fashion on Basecamp.
Cons:
Wish Tracked worked on multiple browsers and also on offline installation of Basecamp
Tracked for Basecamp
Pros:
I love how easy it is to use, and install.
Cons:
I will find that a lot of times, it will have me reinstall the extension, which gets a little annoying.
A Great Add-On for Team Collaboration
Comments: Overall, it has filled some serious gaps between our old software and Basecamp, and I was thrilled when a coworker found this option.
Pros:
My office recently made the switch from another project management software to Basecamp, and the biggest things we were missing was the ability to flag tasks, and the utilization of Kanban boards. Tracked solved both of those huge gaps.
Cons:
Sometimes the interface gets a little clunky, when trying to manage labels. You can power through, but it is a point of annoyance.
Tracked Basecamp Integration
Comments: We have since left tracked because of the issues states above.
Pros:
I liked the ability to see all of our to-dos across projects in one board. Our company struggles with the holisitc overview of all projects .
Cons:
My main complaint is the difference in views - when you view a project folder's kanban board you see the names of the to-do lists, but when you view all of a person's to-dos or all of the company's to-dos you see each individual to do rather the names of lists. This made the naming difficult because we had to develop a naming system that was specific whether you were viewing the to-do lists or each individual to do. The updating was also weird sometimes. In the "view all of ____'s to dos" it would show to-dos from projects that were archived. But it wouldn't show those on the individual projects board.
Great add-on for your Basecamp projects
Pros:
The use of Kanban boards are really helpful in project and personal task management and in viewing workflow very easily. Support are of a great help too.
Cons:
There seems to be bugs quite often, with task completion in Kanban boards often appearing in wrong columns.
Works pretty well
Comments: Overall, the app is functional, but clumsy.
Pros:
I like having boards that I can see laid out for me and that I can see their due dates.
Cons:
I don't like that the Kanban boards sometimes disappear, and I have to exit the program for them to come back. The program isn't very intuitive... it took me FOREVER to figure out how to get back to the project folder (as it turns out, I had to click on the hard to find name of the column the individual projects reside in). I also don't like that if the list of projects in a column is longer than what you see on your screen, manually moving individual project tiles around is a pain. Lastly, it also took me forever to figure out how to edit the description of an individual project (it turned out to be the nondescript elipses icon in the top right). I think this would be nicer if you could just go in and edit the text without having to go looking for an edit button.
Using Tracked has been an easy, intuitive experience.
Comments: Ability to adequately bill.
Pros:
It's ease of use and the fact that it works with Basecamp. It allows us to keep accurate product times.
Cons:
It would be nice to track time from Basecamp on each individual task page. It is a bit frustrating to back out to task to-do list to be able to manage time.
Basecamp review
Pros:
1. I can handle task by project wise. 2. I can manage project and resources easily
Cons:
1. Can not track total time of task that over resource worked.
You could give us kanban together with Basecamp
Comments: I need a software that help me to manage small projects, I need kanban and gantt graph for chronograms, but not so dense like MS Project Professional.
Pros:
I like basecamp´s first page, with the posibility to go directely to my project.
Cons:
It doesn´t have kanban. We must pay for it.
Good experience on using it, making usefull kanban boards on basecamp.
Pros:
- Possible to have Kanban board on Basecamp. - Working with multiple status for Basecamp to-do lists.
Cons:
- Using Chrome extension makes it not so portable (using in different devices require installing the extension again)
Keep better track of your tasks
Pros:
I like the ease of organizing tasks in both order of importance and with column descriptions. I also like creating custom labels.
Cons:
Sometimes it has trouble refreshing or syncing. Usually completing closing out and logging back in solves the problem.
