Reviews of Plunet BusinessManager
Good PM tool
Pros:
The most important feature is the integration with CAT tools like Phrase TMS (formerly Memsource), however, this integration has a limit when it comes to credentials that can be linked between both systems and this is something that has had an impact on us
Cons:
It has a lot of bugs, sometimes the pop-ups won't show, and sometimes the display is odd
Great tool for translation project management
Comments: Organization of projects and streamlining workflows. Database for all company information relating to clients, linguists, pricing, etc.
Pros:
Very easy to use. Easy to customize to the company's needs. Workflow creation is great! I love having all of my tasks/projects listed so that I can know what I need to work on and when. Easily synced with other software, like memoQ. Nice that everything can be done through the program - emails, file sharing, project assignments.
Cons:
There wasn't really much I didn't like. Sometimes updating prices/price lists is very time consuming, especially if you need to update multiple records at once.
I don't like Plunet.
Pros:
What I liked the most about Plunet is its rapidness.
Cons:
What I liked the least about Plunet is how slow it is.
Plunet for Translation Project Organization & Invoicing
Pros:
I've been curious about Plunet since I first learned about it in 2017 and finally have the opportunity to use it! We use it to communicate when projects are completed/delivered in another software and it's a very handy tool for status updates between teams. The colorful icons that delineate whether a project is delivered or approved is the most helpful since I can scroll through dozens of projects at a time and see at a glance what still needs to be finished or approved by the next team. I also love the notes section which we use to communicate any "gotchas" or tougher parts of the projects.
Cons:
Aside from the one comments box when marking delivery, there doesn't seem to be any other areas for comment threads or communication -- thus that would need to happen outside of Plunet. Also, when selecting projects for invoicing, if one project in a batch of 20 or more is missed, there isn't an easy way to back and just add that one -- it needs to handled separately.
