Pros:

Adobe provides smooth interface to read, navigate, and search through lengthy documents, which is essential for analysing financial statements, agreements, and audit reports. The ability to highlight, underline, or add comments helps in marking important details. Adobe allows adding passwords and restrictions to sensitive documents, which is crucial for maintaining confidentiallity.

Cons:

Adobe reader can sometimes be slow to open large or complex pdf files, especially on older systems, affecting productivity.

The best PDF reader

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: I love the overall experience of Adobe Acrobat because it is straightforward to share, and there are many useful functions as well.

Pros:

I like how we can just copy and paste the PDF link and share it with colleagues. It has many useful editing features and sometimes if I am too lazy to re-export the pdf, I can just edit the pdf itself and do minor edits.

Cons:

I am pretty sure there should be an option to change the colour of the comment icon, but it is very subtle to see in my opinion. When someone leaves a comment on the pdf, I click the comment to take me to the commented area, and I find it difficult to distinguish which area I'm looking at.

Adobe Acrobat is no longer the Best Option

2.0 last month New

Comments: It has been fine. In the last 12 months I feel the desktop application has taken a step back in speed & overall bugginess has increased. It is fine for reading PDF's but I feel there are newer, faster & cheaper PDF applications out there that out perform adobe acrobat reader.

Pros:

It is an established platform and it is known and used my many organisations.

Cons:

It is too expensive and the desktop application is slow and many times does not function correctly.

Adobe Acrobat Reader Makes Things Great

5.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: My overall experience with Adobe Acrobat Reader is great for a free software. I wish that some of the best features in the paid version can be integrated in the free version and allow user to gain some performance advantage while using the software's great features.

Pros:

What I like most about the Adobe Acrobat Reader is its ability to open and view as many PDF files as you want. It has a number of basic and useful features that you would want from a free software. It allows users to have that capacity to organize files in its respective folders for easy referencing.

Cons:

I have been using Adobe Acrobat Reader for more than 10 years now but the least that I like about the software is the confusion that it sometimes cause especially when the software is being updated. Also, the best feature of the Adobe Acrobat Reader can only be found in the full, paid version.

Pros:

The most I like is the digital signing capabilities, I can sign any document without having to print it out and send it signed. I can manage the documents from any device as cross platform synchronization works very good and offers flexibility.

Cons:

Sometimes uses a lot of the PC resources and can be a little sluggy.

Adobe advantage or disadvantage?

4.0 6 months ago

Comments: All in all my overall rating for the product itself is a 100%. If Adobe could lower there price just ab bit it would be a great choice for college students and even younger students. The price is the only disadvantage I found with this platform.

Pros:

All of the features are worthy of praise. I love how you can transform a photo or a word doc into a PDF. The editor is as well a nice feature especially if you are working on a project with others. You can edit and send for review for more editing with the addition of adding comments or remarks to aide the changes made.

Cons:

The only disadvantage of this product is it is too pricey for me. It is a little bit high in cost which makes it a disadvantage for college students or those who can not afford the rate.

Adobe - great for basics

4.0 4 months ago

Comments: Over all, the product works well for it's main intended uses. However, some of the expansion items (like scaling/measure tools) have started to cause issues over all and the reading/initializing of documents for said tools has slowed to a crawl over the past few months.

Pros:

I like that I can combine, redact and edit .pdf files.

Cons:

The measuring feature for scaleable documents was originally one of my favorites. But recently, there has been issues with the scaling tool not working correctly, thus making it more of a disappointment than an exciting feature.

"A versatile tool for interacting with PDF documents"

4.0 7 months ago

Comments: Adobe Acrobat Reader's functionality, usability, and security makes it a good tool for interacting with PDF files.

Pros:

One of the things I like most about Adobe Acrobat Reader is its comprehensive set of features for viewing and interacting with PDF documents.

Cons:

One aspect that some users may find challenging about Adobe Acrobat Reader is its occasional tendency to consume significant system resources, especially when working with large or complex PDF files. This can lead to slower performance or occasional lag, particularly on older computers or devices with limited RAM.

Alternatives Considered:

Good Document Editing Tool - But Not Necessary

5.0 9 months ago

Comments: The program is ok, but not necessary for those that edit and merge documents infrequently. I generally prefer to use the free options that are available.

Pros:

Abode Acrobat Reader is a good tool for opening and editing pdfs. It is easy to install and easy to use. I use it frequently for e-signatures and to merge pdfs.

Cons:

If you don't use this type of program frequently, there are free options that can handle most of the functions that Adobe Acrobat Reader offers. For those with limited needs, Adobe Acrobat Reader is probably not necessary.
