Safer digital experience and exploring essential routes

4.0 7 months ago

Comments: Best threat intelligence network. It is worth trying.

Pros:

Being able to realize legitimate account names on the system and avoid malicious activities is a major step. The protection technology in place is diverse and trustworthy. Very unique and user friendly too.

Cons:

Does not have Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) which is a drawback. It comes at a cost.

Time to move on and use something better than Symantec

3.0 4 months ago

Comments: Overall, I would caution people from using this product. There are other competitors with much more robust technologies for roughly the same price.

Pros:

A well-known product with a long running reputation of quality.

Cons:

Missed too many obvious security hazards and required secondary software to fill the gaps in its endpoint protection.

Symantec End-Point Security

5.0 9 months ago

Comments: We were very satisfied with it once it was moved to a cloud based offering as opposed to an on-site server base. But once purchased by Broadcom, the changes in how it had to be renewed thru a reseller and the growing complexity of it, forced us to switch.

Pros:

Highly Configurable, thus allowing rules to be added for exceptions or exclusions to programs that we needed to trust.

Cons:

Became extremely complex and harder to renew once purchased by Broadcom several years back.

A good product to consider

4.0 7 months ago

Comments: A good program to keep your computer protected, it does not slow the performance and seems to be more compatible with older systems than other brands. You can schedule the scans, and thethe various options about protection; suggest to lock the settings (the user cannot change them).

Pros:

I install and use Symantec Endpoint Security on those computers that become too slow or start crashing when I install other antivirus brands. In fact i have to say that Symantec Endpoint Security does not slow your computer while protecting it and scanning for threats. The interface may look a bit old but it has all the features required, plus it is easy to manage. I use it both on servers and clients.

Cons:

Scanning task keep on "amassing" on my desktop, they don't close automatically

It is a very good net protector.

3.0 2 years ago

Comments: It has been a satisfactory experience, like every endpoint that is installed, it is intended that you can obtain clear extra security results throughout your network, this program has propitiated that scenario. Our laptops, PCs, mobiles, network, machines have been highly protected in a number of third party attacks.

Pros:

The biggest pros are that it's very easy to install, develop and start using it to test your entire network, it's device friendly and I mostly use linux and android for work.It recognizes and has the ability to remember passwords but also the id and mac address of my devices, crossing data to know that I am the one who is really entering.

Cons:

The main problem with the program is the delay in reports, when I include emails it does not send alerts continuously either and it lets some errors pass that are not really from the network but rather from the internal infrastructure that we have.

Good Enough protection

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall i am pleased, but not overwhelmingly happy. i moved on to Sophos in one company and Trellix in another company.

Pros:

Product is cost effect, easy to deploy and easy to manage.

Cons:

Product lacks some new features compared to its competitors in the same class,it is does not detect all the threats. i often scanned the same system with Symantec first, then installed another product and found threats that Symantec scans didn't pick up.

Symantec is one of the toughest antivirus software's out there

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: I must say that this is by far one of the greatest enemies of Support and in case you want to be sure that something won't be changed in any possible way ( Firewall, incoming connections from some PC in general or files copied ), make sure to get Symantec as you won't be disappointed while using it even a little bit and I can sign this as an agent who is working with it for a couple years so far.

Pros:

This antivirus is so good, that it looks like an impossible obstacles sometimes on my work, as I keep encountering it daily while working on some of my Customers. It is easy to deploy, password protected ( if you are trying to uninstall it or stop it, you can't do it without password ) and provides user protection from almost anything, especially as it integrates and utilizes Windows Firewall and Virus Protection on Windows 10 for instance, to provide impenetrable wall for any attack.

Cons:

I can say that sometimes I don't like how tough this one is, as it is my daily job to make my software work fine with Symantec, but if Customer Administrator is not online, I am unable to do anything. That's why I would recommend it to everyone out there, as I am battling it for a couple years so far and I know how good it is.

Pros:

What we like about this software is it is client-server solutions and protection for all our devices on network, whether it is laptop, desktop and server.

Cons:

Symantec Endpoint Security is nice tool but a bit pricey compare to other software with the same function.

An end to end security system

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Symantec endpoint security provides a comprehensive control over your applications and systems. It acts as a final layer of control which prevents your systems from cyber attacks and helps you keep your sensitive data protected. It not only detects threats on a real time basis but also provides a preventative control around the issues.

Pros:

Symantec endpoint security like the name suggests is the final layer of security which secures our applications and business systems. My personal best feature is it's two factor authentication which secures my access on cloud with an approval from my registered mobile device. So, even if someone tries to break into my cloud server, it will not be possible for them to access because of this two factor authentication.

Cons:

One of the areas where I personally struggled is setting it up in my mobile for the first time. I had to literally reach out to my IT desk and have them fixed before I could start using the tool in my cell phone.

Still too heavy for my computers

3.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall it has an improved user interface and all, but it is heavy and it doesn't provide in my opinion, the protection I need

Pros:

I've been testing the new versions and even though it has improved a lot, it has a lot way to go to become my main antivirus and endpoint protection

Cons:

It's HEAVY and sometimes it shows false positives with applications that have had ZERO problems with other security programs. That presents a problem because I don't want to have my files quarantined without any reason

Data Saviour - Symantec Endpoint Security

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: it's one of the best antiviruses. if the price can be decreased per user and combine packages for all devices can be offered that would be much better.

Pros:

Timely backup and restore options.backend Antivirus and spywareFirewall security options that can be decided as per user requirement.ease of use

Cons:

installing new Sofware is some time a problem, although it follows the rule set by the user, but the firewall has to be disabled to install some 3rd party applications on devices.

Great Security software for System

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: My overall experience has been very great. I have been using Symantec Endpoint Security for 2 years and my system has been performing really well.

Pros:

The best part about the software is that it gets updated every 3 hours. The virus definitions gets updated every 3 hours so that no new virus affects the systems.

Cons:

One only thing I do not like about the software is that once I have installed it in the system, the uninstalling is very difficult.

One of the best protections for your computers!

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall, this is a good software to protect your systems, servers and network from intruders, viruses and other threats. They might need to work on their web console, to make it more easy for the users to navigate.

Pros:

This is one of the most popular anti virus softwares known in the market. From business to personal use laptops, Symantec Endpoint Security is well used by a wide range of users. This software gives real time firewall detection and scans viruses. This software provides advance threat detection, which is super useful for businesses and individuals who work with highly sensitive data. It provides goos and reliable protection against spyware and a very varied range of viruses. Along with network protection, it also provides protection for your servers.

Cons:

The latest updates on the web console are a little messy as compared to the previous version. At times your system may slow down.

LONG TIME Symantec user, and still on board.

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: Symantec has protected my customers for many years, and I use it in our company also. We've never experience a threat that wasn't, or couldn't be, isolated and removed or quarantined. It's been a very cost effective solution for our company paired with our hardware firewall.

Pros:

It's very easy to install and administer, as either a stand alone endpoint installation or a managed client endpoint. Updates are automatic and the built in firewall is very effective. I've been using Symantec products since we replaced McCrappy throughout our entire organization (enterprise class healthcare organization with multiple hospitals and ambulatory care sites) and have rarely had anything get past it. Given the state of Ransomewear today however, I highly recommend connecting your endpoint AV to a cloud database for realtime and zero day scanning and remediation. Symantec one of the oldest players in the channel and still one of the best.

Cons:

The one problem I've experienced using Symantec Endpoint Protection over the years is that from time to time (rarely and generally localized to a workstation) the local database gets corrupted somehow and a number of steps need to be followed to repair the software and get updates flowing again. Simply uninstalling and reinstalling does not do that trick. Past that, it's always been a great asset.

Traditional and trustful solution for corporative environments

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: It is my job partner, it protects me along my day without being disturbing. Rarely I see an advice for it or need to take a manual action, and it stills there, doing its good job. I recommend it, for sure!

Pros:

In our company we use it for all the employees. Our IT department has full control over adjustments of all the installations. Employees don't need to worry about scheduled scannings, updatings, fine tunning or anything else. Its pre installed on all the machines and is there to protect, not to disturb. Its awesome!

Cons:

What can be a pro in one hand, can also be a con in the other hand. The way it works on client machines, by being configured by IT department and not locally may cause some troubles. You just can't set an action different than quarantine a suspect object. But we all know that sometimes it can be a bad judgment from the antivirus side, like a driver for Android that I needed to install and it was classified as unknown source and therefore didn't allowed me to proceed with installation. At least an option to ignore the object could be better.
